The surface mounted series is our core range and the reason most project buyers come to us. A surface mounted housing sits below the ceiling rather than inside it, so it solves the three situations that recessed fittings cannot: no ceiling void, a ceiling that must not be cut, or a fitting that is intended to be seen.

Sealed COB bodies rated IP65 with interchangeable reflector cups (black, coffee, grey, white) and 24° / 38° / 60° beam options. Black or white finish. CE marked, F-mark certified.

Huahang Series — High-Power Round with Mounting Frame

Up to 150 W on a 36 V aluminium substrate, supplied with an iron mounting frame and full accessory set: explosion-proof mesh, aluminium reflective cup, waterproof glass, sealing rings, steel safety wire and breathable valve. Black or white.

Refurbishment projects

Where the existing ceiling is finished, tiled or concrete and cannot be opened up. The surface body replaces the old fitting without ceiling work.

Corridors and circulation

Long runs where evenly spaced surface bodies give consistent illumination without a continuous profile.

IP44 assemblies with sealed gaskets for areas subject to moisture and cleaning.

Quality Control

This series is inspected at four points before packing:

Drawing and sample approval — dimensions, tolerances and finish confirmed before production.
Incoming material — alloy grade, wall thickness and gasket material checked against the approved sample.
Finishing check — coating thickness, colour consistency and surface defects checked per batch.
Pre-shipment inspection — fit-up, appearance, marking, packing and carton drop check.

Series FAQ

When should a surface mounted downlight housing be used instead of a recessed one?

A surface mounted housing is used when there is no ceiling void to recess into, when the ceiling is concrete or already finished, or when the fitting is deliberately meant to be visible. It also avoids cutting the ceiling, which matters in refurbishment projects.

What is the difference between die-cast and extruded aluminium housings?

Die-casting suits complex three-dimensional shapes and produces a seamless body with good heat spreading. Extrusion suits constant cross-sections such as linear and track profiles, and is generally more economical for long runs. The choice depends on the geometry of the part.

Can you produce a surface mounted housing to our own drawing?

Yes. Send a drawing, 3D file or a reference sample and we will quote tooling, unit price, finishing and lead time. Exclusivity terms for customer-funded tooling are stated in the quotation.

Which IP ratings are available?

IP20 indoor housings, IP44 assemblies for bathroom and covered outdoor use, and IP65 assemblies for exposed outdoor installation. The gasket and cable entry design are what determine the achievable rating, so please state the target environment at enquiry stage.

Do you supply the light engine and driver as well?

Both routes are possible. Many customers buy housing and optic only and fit their own engine and driver; others take a complete assembly tested before shipment. Confirm which you need and we will quote accordingly.
